Gibson Les Paul Special Double Cutaway 1959 - Cherry

Early 1959 Gibson Les Paul Special. This has a bunch of the '58 features including: early switch position, 58 pots, and the giant neck. Lets get this out of the way: it has a neck reset, it has never had a neck repair, just the reset. I have info from the original owners that are adamant they have never had a repair done to this guitar. I tend to believe this was either done by Gibson after finishing the guitar, or done by the original shop that sold it to its original owners (and didn't disclose). After all, this was a new design at the time and Gibson was still working out the kinks. These are very prone to heel breaks, but this has never had a heel or neck break. The neck set was done professionally and there are no issues with it. Everything else about the guitar is completely original down to the frets. It plays up and down the neck wonderfully and sounds great. Might have the biggest neck I've ever felt on a vintage Gibson. Has a few dings on the edges of the body, but is overall in excellent shape and very little to no fade on the red.

Comes with the original cupboard case in beat-up condition. I'm debating finding a modern case to ship this in. Shipping costs may change if shipping 2 shipments (new and old case).
