Gibson Les Paul Special 1956 - TV Yellow

1956 Gibson Les Paul Special in TV Yellow or Limed Mahogany. This is your chance to get one with 95% original finish and 100% original parts for 65% of what an all original one goes for. This guitar had a neck reset a long time ago, at this time the repair person decided it needed 3 screws in the back (for what real reason, I have no idea). The good news is that the neck was actually set perfectly. My luthier confirmed the screws served absolutely no structural purpose and he removed, plugged and just finished over this area expertly. It’s possible there was a heel repair that necessitated the original neck reset but the finish has now been touch up twice on the heel and it’s hard to tell (it’s priced like there is anyway). Other than this, the guitar is 100% original including the factory small frets, that still play well. This guitar sounds excellent and has a real clear chime to it when not pushing an amp too hard. The in between tone is to die for. 56 is a great year for specials and juniors. Weighs only 7 lbs 10 ounces. Comes with a new Gibson Custom Shop Lifton reissue case that is very nice.
