Gibson ES-345TDC PAF Pickups 1962 Cherry Near Mint
1962 Gibson ES-345 with Original PAF Pickups. This was in storage for 25+ years when I acquired it from the person who inherited it from the original owner, its essentially a one owner (the person who I got it from did not play guitar). I thought about keeping this one.
This guitar is 100% original except for 1 or 2 nylon saddles. This has two very cool features you only see in 61 or 62: the black buttons covering the original drilled tailpiece holes and the super cool factory gold painted varitone switch. No repairs or breaks. The only thing keeping this from mint is some tarnish on the gold hardware, and few dings on the tip of the headstock, and the saddles. One scratches on the back of the neck Original bigsby that actual stays in tune with some light wiggling. Two of the tuner buttons have got the "mummy fingers", but all are original (including the buttons). I suspect two of the tuner buttons had the old formula that deteriorated quickly (this is the transition period). They are still usable at home and in the studio, but if taking on the road I would recommend replacing. Original frets are decent at about 80% life left. All electronics including varitone original and untouched. That means the middle position is out of phase. Original case in decent shape included, all latches work. Has some old goodies: original Gibson stereo cable, a capo, tuning fork, etc.
Slim to medium neck shape that feels great, plays up and down the neck without buzzing. This guitar sounds phenomenal, the bridge pickup is magic.
