1969 Fender Competition Mustang with a very rare front and back stripe. From what I can gather, only the first few Competition Mustangs had front and back stripes in 1969 (the year model was first introduced). This Mustang has a January 1969 neck date, so it is undoubtably one of the very first. This came straight from the original owner out of Hoboken, NJ where he bought the guitar brand new as a Senior in High School. It has never left the state. It is 100% original and in excellent shape. There is a little finish fading from what looks like a former hang tag (see last photo). It plays excellent and sounds great after a recent professional setup. It comes with an old hard case that fits it well, but is not the typical fender mustang case. The original owner was adamant that it was the case that came with the guitar brand new from the music store. Comes with the original bridge cover and vibrato arm as well.
