1967 Fender Stratocaster in original sunburst finish. This is the rarest in terms of production #'s year for the Stratocaster ever (including '54). I will spare you all the details, but the popularity of the Strat in the mid 60's was waning and Fender was making more telecasters, mustangs, jazzmasters, and jaguars. Then Mr. Jimi came around and the Strat returned to its former glory in terms of #s. This Strat has a neck date of Sept '67 and '66 pots (which is normal). All of the important stuff on this guitar is original: finish, body, neck, and electronics (pickups and pots). It has hand dated black bottom pickups which can be found in this era. The only non-original parts are the pickguard, backplate, nut, and frets (larger than factory). Unfortunately, the installation of the guard and backplate caused a lot of extra holes, all but 2 of them are under the footprint of the plastics (the two exposed are on the back and filled). It also had an extra string tree hole that has been filled. All in all this is a great playing and sounding rare strat with all of its important original components. It comes with the original hard case.
