Early 1965 Gibson ES-345 TDC. This has all '64 specs: wide nut and stop tail. There has never been another tailpiece on this guitar. The original patent no humbuckers have never had their covers off. The original wiring harness was converted to mono using the original components. The varitone still works. All hardware is original except for one knob. The original frets still have plenty of meat left and it plays great after its recent pro setup. There is one anomaly on the guitar and that is why it is not priced north of $20k. The crown on the headstock veneer is low for the year. Later in '66 the crown lowers to this position. Either this is one of the first to have a lower crown or the veneer was replaced with a slightly later one for some reason. The finish looks great to me especially at the neck joint and so does the tenon. Therefore, I don't believe it is a reneck (it would have a skinnier nut width if it was renecked in 66/67). There are also no headstock repairs I can see with and without blacklight. The stinger appears factory and the serial number looks correct. It comes with the original case and serialized hang tag.
