1964 Gibson SG Junior - Cherry - OHSC
Just in from the original owners children! 1964 Gibson SG Jr. 100% original (with the exception of a few screws), needed a good cleaning when I received, but it came out really nice. A rock n roll machine. Something about Jrs are really great, the simplicity, the sound (some say less magnetic pull on the strings from only 1 pickup allows them to vibrate more). Not sure what it is, but I dig them. Not much to say, except its an excellent year for Gibsons. As of writing this I am missing the 2 intonation adjustment screws for the bridge, I will find 2. The original pickguard appears to have been cut or rounded at the top right horn (probably due to shrinkage). The one pickguard screw there was filled. The pickguard screws are not original. Comes with the original hard case (which was an upgrade in the 60s, they usually come with crap soft cases). Case alone is worth at least $750. The handle is a bit busted, but can be fixed. The original frets play great and have life left. No finish touchups, no breaks.
