Shore Point Vintage Guitars is pleased to present this 100% 1964 Fender Stratocaster in custom color Dakota Red with a Korina Body. In later 1963/early 1964 Fender experimented with some different body wood types. Estimates are a couple dozen known examples of Korina Stratocaster. What makes this doubly rare is that it is a completely original custom color and a rare one at that. I have seen some Fiesta Red, Olympic White and of course, sunburst Korina strats, but never Dakota Red. From the few experts I have spoken to this is the only one found/could be the only one that ever existed. As stated, this guitar is 100% original, with no rewinds or repairs. The original frets, while still totally playable, are a tad low, but I will not be the one to refret this guitar. This has the most figured Brazilian Rosewood I have seen on a vintage Fender. This guitar features all of the guitar PreCBS features for an early 64 (Spaghetti logo, clay dots, black bottom pickups, etc.). The guitar weighs 8 lbs 2 ounces. Comes with its original strap and blonde case that is 100% functional, but has some edge wear. A demo video is included at the end of this ad.
