Early 1959 Gibson Les Paul Double Cut Special. This is the first iteration of the double cut Les Paul Special (Notice the switch location). This is basically '58 features with a '59 serial number. This guitar is 100% original and the original unfaded cherry finish is in excellent shape. Most of these guitars suffer from heel cracks as the location of the neck pickup makes the neck joint weaker. This has never had a heel repair, however, it has had a very professionally done neck reset. There are no finish touchups. This guitar plays and sounds great after its recent professional setup. The original frets have plenty of life left in them. Comes with its original brown hard case (these came from factory with either the brown hard case or the crap chipboard case).
